The Conference is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of forestry education in Ukraine. Within this framework, the main purpose of the conference is to provide a forum for the presentation of the latest achievements in applied research and current developments in the field of forest engineering. The conference will also foster an exchange of accumulated knowledge and technology transfer of practical experience in the field in the use of environmentally sound techniques of sustainable forest utilisation.
Early registration shows over 70 conference participants from universities, research institutes and the forest products industry from 17 counties around the world have expressed interest in attending the conference.
THE SUBJECT MATTER
Technical equipment and technological processes: forest harvesting, timber transportation, forest roads, site preparation and regeneration, ergonomics, environmental protection and ecological safety.
The use of computer technologies in forest engineering: organizational and technical planning of forest operations, transport and handling of primary forest products, computer-assisted design and planning of forest harvesting units, landings and roads, the use of GIS and hand-held technology such as GPS in sustainable forest management and harvesting systems.
